About

This blog is dedicated to fostering dialogue about the intersections between art practice, art history, natural history, and the natural sciences.

It’s a big topic. It’s a big world. Let’s ponder it together.

The blog author, Kelly Wacker, is an art historian and Professor of Art at the University of Montevallo in Alabama. She has research and personal interests in Eco Art, environmental art, and Land Art. Currently, she is researching the 19th century anthropomorphic animal painter, William Holbrook Beard, and writing fiction. She spends as much time as she can in nature and looks intensely at the natural world around her including the chickens scratching around in her back yard.
